Water Day at the Zoo

We met up with some friends at the zoo today. The children's area was definitely the most fun place and just couldn't resist playing in the water!

Long Time Friends

Spent a weekend back in my hometown and met up with friends Cynthia, Kim and Bill. We all met back in our high school years. Cynthia and Bill were a year ahead of me and Kim was a year behind me. We were part of a larger group of friends in our church youth group that were so close. I think during the summers we probably spent just about every day and/or evening together playing cards, watching movies, riding wave runners on the lake (thanks to Cari's family) and playing the ultimate hide-n-seek games at our church. Oh, and remember that camping trip at Brad's and the water tower? And I could go on...

We shared songs, tears, hurts, dreams, lots of laughter and lots of memories. Those were some good times. It's neat to have such a history together thinking back. Even though we don't get to see each other much, isn't it great to have friends that when you do get together and talk it's like not a day has gone by.

And now we have our own kids. Wow!

Bonkers

We met up with friends and went Bonkers! We had so much fun! Here is Lacey and Bailey. Kyle was climbing and moving through the tunnels so fast that I couldn't keep up with him. I have to admit that I had a lot of fun too climbing through the maze and especially going down the huge slide. I would put Lacey down the slide first then wait for her to move out of the way. I would fly down that thing and Lacey thought it was the funniest thing watching me zoom past her. This is a must do over!

Warm Day in January

We spent a beautiful and warm day at the arbo with friends. We spent most of our time today in the pioneer village and then went for a short walk. I tried my best to get a good picture of Kyle and Lacey together but this was the best I could do. I was told that Kyle was making pancakes here in this picture.

Lacey posed for me in this picture. She likes the camera and will give me a cheese grin a lot of the time. She pretended that this little hill was a slide and said "whee" as she scooted all the way down the wet and dirty "slide".

Katherine and Kyle. Katherine is also in Kyle's preschool class.

Kyle's 3rd Birthday

Good morning birthday boy! I have made it a tradition to take a picture first thing when he wakes up on his birthday so we can watch him grow year after year. After Kyle went to sleep the night before, I filled his room with red and yellow balloons and 3's everywhere!

Kyle gets so excited about birthdays. It can be anyone's birthday and he is excited because it involves CAKE! Oh how my boy LOVES cake!

My handsome hubby and sweet baby girl.

Look at the static in Kyle's hair. Kyle is wearing the apron because daddy took him to the Lowes kid project right before his party that morning. He got to build a little wooden firetruck!

Caleb, Kyle and Jackson having fun being boys!

Benjamin and his mommy working on the craft that I made to go along with the cake and party theme.

Oh how I love this picture! This truly captures my Kyle. I absolutely love your excitement and laughter. You have always been a happy little guy and you are so much fun to be around. Kyle, you are such a joy. I am so thankful to have the pleasure of being your mommy.

Bailey

My sweet boy. I also see this sweet face many times a day.

I made Kyle's cake again this year. It is a very time consuming project but I love it. This year has been all about tractors, construction vehicles and dump trucks. I want to always do my best to learn about and encourage my child's interests. I found myself many times driving around looking for road work or construction sites to watch these mighty vehicles in action! I am the crazy mommy waving the workers closer while pointing to my little boy. I found that they were happy to oblige and give my kids an up close view of dumping dirt which is always very cool to a little boy who loves trucks! Kyle told me he wanted two tractors and a dump truck on his cake. I tried but that was just too much detail. So I decided to take the picture of the truck on his pillow sham and the truck in one of his Tonka books and draw my own dump truck. It is basically the pillow sham truck with a face and hard hat. I'm glad he liked it! Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!
