The Big Blue Bucket

We checked out a book at the library titled The Big Brown Box. It's about a boy that was given a big brown box in which he uses his imagination and plays with it several different ways. Each time his little brother tries to play with him and he doesn't want him to play so finally the mommy offers the younger sibling a smaller box so he can play too. In the book they pretend they are rocket ships. After reading it many many times one afternoon, Kyle climbed into his blue toy bucket after setting the red one beside it for Lacey to climb into and he pretended to be in a rocket ship "just like the book".

On another day, Lacey is "helping" Mommy and Kyle make some oatmeal cookies. She has her tongue sticking out like she is ready to eat!

Another Face Painting

Today when the lady asked Kyle what he wanted on his face he said "a tractor". So sorry Kyle. You were so excited about getting a tractor but I think the tiger is great!

On this day at the Arbo, Kyle is "driving" the police RV.

Fun at Gym D's

Despite the expression on Lacey's face, she really was having fun being pushed around in the rolling circle!

Kyle it is amazing to see how you've grown just since we last signed up for this class. You can push yourself around on the tricycle. You have not caught on to the pedals just yet. You will have so much more fun when you do.

Arbo Day with Spiderman

I always enjoy spending time at the Arbo with my sweet kiddos. They have special days that include crafts, face painting, petting zoo and music for small kids. So it is always a fun day. And this day they had a firetruck although the firetruck was leaving just as we got there. Bummer so sorry Kyle I know it is one of your favorites. This time Kyle wanted his face painted like spiderman. Not because he knows who or what spiderman is but because the little boy ahead of us had one. As we were watching Kyle asked mommy, what's that kid got on his face? I said, that's spiderman. Kyle replied, oh...oh...yeeesss.. spiderman... I like that. Can I get that spiderman on my face too? So here is spiderman in progress.

Mommy's Day

I had a great Mommy's Day. Kyle gave me a card he pick out himself. Daddy said he like the one with the sunshine on it. He also brought me a Krispy Kreme doughnut (his was the one with the sprinkles). Then we spent a gorgeous day at the zoo.

Wow!! Now that's close!

Feeding the birds is always exciting. Kyle did not hesitate at all. He was determined to catch a bird and have it sit on his stick. Lacey loves to watch birds. Every time we are out in the yard or looking out the window Lacey is pointing to show me the birds. I think she even touched the bird eating on our stick we were holding.

Kyle also didn't hesitate to touch what was in the water. This time it was just different types of shells. Usually there is a stingray in there.

Thanks for a great day!!

Huge Milestones

BIG BOY BED!!

This has been a LONG time coming! Lacey has been in our room in a pack-in-play since home from the hospital. Mostly because I hesitated to move Kyle out of the crib because he did so well in it. He never tried to climb out. And went to sleep on his own at night and nap time from pretty early on. The second reason being I finally got both kids rooms painted. (kyle's we painted twice. the first was a light blue color. most definitely not kyle. so i changed to this khaki. i really like it.) We have a real big boy bed set on it now that nonnie and poppy got kyle a while back. (pictures to come).

LACEY'S FIRST STEPS

Lacey you took your first official steps today!!! I didn't get pictures yet. I will have video soon.

IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG...

since my last post. I know that I can get to detailed and I guess that would make me somewhat of a perfectionist but I am also a great procrastinator (bad combo). I really can not stand the thought of my posts being out of order of when the pics were taken...but then I procrastinate making the posts therefore getting further behind and then overwhelmed that that I have so much catching up (in order) to do that I just ignore it all together! I really don't like this pattern in me and really need to work on that about myself. So here is a try. I might as well start with the most recent pictures taken at playgroup. I am still going to try and backdate future posts so be sure and scroll down when reading future posts as you may miss some if you just check the most recent one. I encourage comments as it may hopefully spur me on to keep posting more often.
