July 4th Week

Fireworks

Kyle, I wish I had brought the video and had audio of your play by play of the fireworks. You really surprised me. I actually thought you might be afraid of the loud noise but I was very wrong! You were so excited! "oh..oh.. look Lacey that's fireworks..look Lacey look...fireworks...see the fireworks...oh...."

This is how Lacey watched her first fireworks show. Sitting in Poppy's lap with his fingers plugging her ears. She liked watching them but was very afraid of the sound.

Went to a train museum.

Lacey eating pizza.Rode the little steam engine train at a local park.
Rode the trolley.
Rode the Ferris Wheel. Surprised that Kyle rode it with us and surprised at how fast it went around. After about the fourth time around we asked the guy to stop it, please.

Waiting for the train.
Aunt Tahnee bought Kyle his own little golf set.
The guys spend a day at the golf course. (Kyle, Daddy, Poppy and Cousin Alex)

Kyle and Maddi. Maddi is about a month younger than Kyle and is the daughter of one Doug's good friends from high school. She and Kyle had the best time hanging out. She is just as social as Kyle and they had a great time. It was so cute and amazing to see how at the time these little two years old just talked and carried on conversation with each other. Kyle talked about Maddi for weeks after we got back home. Every time we left our house he would ask if Maddi was going to be there. So sweet.
Kyle jumping off the diving board into the deep end!!!
Kyle is taking it easy. What would a trip to Poppy's be without a ride on the "tractor".
Lacey and Aunt Tahnee. Aunt Tahnee giving Kyle a swimming lessons.

Breakfast poolside.

Lacey loves her cousin Alex.

Later that week I went to visit my friend Kim in my hometown. Kim and I are friends from high school. We spent the day with her and her two boys Clayton and Tyler. It was truck heaven for Kyle.
Clayton is dressed as Batman obviously. As Clayton climbs and jumps off the furniture I look at Kim with a questioning look when she informed me that Clayton is not allowed to jump off the furniture but Batman can! Pretty funny :)

Great Grandma, Nana (my grandma and mom)
Nana and Pawpaw (my mom and dad)

Great Grandpawpaw. It was absolutely impossible to get these kids to sit still long enough to get everyone looking at the camera. (my grandpa)

Lacey's Birthday Party

Mommy puts the crown on. Lacey takes it off. Mommy puts it back on. Lacey takes it off. Mommy gives up and Lacey decides to put it back on like this. Whatever works. Here is Kyle as he kept sneaking icing off the cupcakes. Later after Kyle was finished eating his cupcake he had icing on his cheek. He was showing Maddi and she just leaned over and licked it right off his face! Pretty funny and lots of laughs!
We decided to celebrate Lacey's Birthday with family and friends back in Doug's hometown. It was really nice to actually have lots of family around for a party as that is not usually the norm since we don't live close to them. There was a lot of water including a big pool, a baby pool and a waterslide for all the kiddos. And lots and lots of pink cupcakes!!!!

Lacey, I just love all your hair. You are so beautiful!
We don't have a lot of girl toys and I guess it really doesn't matter because you love to play with Kyle's trucks. You actually prefer to play with them. Truck was one of your first words.
