Why Would Lacey be Making this Face?

Because this is what was staring at her just on the other side of the glass.

I have to admit that they are pretty scary looking to me too! This is an emu which looks to me like an ostrich just smaller. Kyle kept calling an ostrich a "sausage". "Look mommy at all the sausages!" "You better watch out. That sausage is going to BITE you!"

Doug and I took Kyle and Lacey and Madison and Dakota (my niece and nephew) to the drive-thru 'Wildlife Safari'. We had so much fun.
We were very "daring" driving with our windows down. I was looking the other way when Madison was squealing for me to hurry and roll my window up. I turned and looked and barely got it closed before this zebra stuck his nose inside the car!

Kyle and Lacey love visiting their cousins!

Family Day at the Zoo

Holding hands. I love it! So sweet.

We were waiting for the otters to swim behind Lacey.

Kyle was a brave boy and determined to get a bird to sit on his stick. Success many times over.

They are looking at a black bear in there.

Lacey was pretty brave herself.

See the prairie dog in the background?

What did you guys find in that hole?

If you look close you can see Lacey's tongue sticking out. Funny. This is what she does in deep thought and concentration. I have been told that Doug did the exact same thing when he was young too.
