Christmas 2007 Vol. 2 (finally)

Well, I am finally getting back to putting together these Christmas photos. It bugs me that they aren't in order with Vol. 1 but oh well...

Kyle is looking at his new Boz book. This particular page show one of the character's dressed as a super hero that he relates to being a 'Super Why' from the PBS series that he loves. I'm not sure how long he stared at that same page.

Here's Lacey looking adorable in her new fancy hat Nonnie got her for Christmas.

Kyle was definitely our entertainment for the night. Alex got this new golf club and Kyle kept saying "it's my turn".

Kyle closed the evening by playing some tunes on his harmonica.

I thought this was a sweet picture of Lacey in Daddy's arms shortly after waking up on Christmas morning.
Lacey and Mema.

Every time we have been to Mema's house Kyle knows exactly where we are because one of the first things he does is look for the old organ.

Something special at Mema's is that we always have a birthday cake for Jesus and the youngest grandchild gets to blow out the candle after we sing Happy Birthday. Well Kyle it looks like you may get one more year before Lacey steps up to the plate.

And finally....Kyle got a HUGE surprise!! He got his very own tractor from Santa!(thanks Mema for letting Santa know exactly what Kyle wanted!) Kyle says, "it's a tractor just like Poppy's". After dinner one night, we were eating one of his favorite things (ice cream) and Daddy asked him if ice cream was his favorite and Kyle said "no daddy, ice cream not my favorite...my tractor my favorite" Wow, that is something coming from him!

Christmas 2007 Vol. 1

Daddy and Kyle walked down Great Granny's drive to throw rocks in the creek. These are some sweet pictures. As you can see I told Doug to hold on to Kyle as he was standing on the ledge above the creek in these pictures. I stayed just long enough to snap these pics because I couldn't hardly stand that he was that close to the edge. Many of you are probably rolling your eyes at that comment but I couldn't help it...I'm mommy.

In this picture, Daddy is telling Kyle to look at Mommy and smile for the picture and of course this is the look I get because the picture taking was distracting him from throwing the rock in his hand into the water.

Kyle received this ambulance from Granny for Christmas and it was for sure a hit! This just cracked us up. They would take turns pushing the button that would make the truck drive and would just scream at the top of their lungs while jumping and laughing so hard when the truck flew off the end of the table as you can see in the action shot below. They repeated this over and over for a very long time. More than my ears could take it. It is fun to see the kids having such a good time.

Lacey with Great Uncle Jimmy Joe.

Lacey with Aunt Tahnee and Cousin Alex.

We spent the afternoon at Great Granny's house full of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and lots of little 2nd Cousins running around.
Lacey in Great Granny's lap.

Christmas Eve morning started out with Poppy driving the lawn mower "tractor" around to the back door for Kyle to see. Kyle loves tractors and couldn't even wait to get dressed to go outside so he worn his PJ's under his coat to ride the "tractor". He was so excited and very serious as you can see by the expression on his face.

Visiting Great Grandpa

Great Grandpa will turn 89 years old next month. He recently moved into assisted living. This was our first trip to visit him since he moved in. It is a very nice place for him to be with lots of people around to keep him company and take care of him. His new place is just the right size for him. And after talking to the staff it seems as though he is quite the ladies man. When we walked in it was dinner time and of course Grandpa was sitting at a table with all ladies! He is a very social person. You are a sweet person Grandpa and I will always treasure the journal you wrote for me a few years ago sharing your life story in great detail. You are a special person!

Kyle is sitting in Great Grandpa's lap and giving some sweet hugs.

Kyle was showing Great Grandpa one of the new Boz the Bear books his Nonnie got him for Christmas.

Lacey is chillin on the couch with Daddy.

Kyle and Great Grandpa were pretending to talk on the phone. They kept taking turns back and forth. Kyle liked pushing the big buttons on the phone.

Kyle is always eager to help in the kitchen! Here are some pics of him making some candy pretzels. He loved shaking the sprinkles!

Tree Time

Kyle is such a big helper! Here he is helping daddy put together the Christmas tree as Lacey is making sure they are doing it correctly.
